You're correct about backward compatibility of the Insight Manager Agents
from V4.0F to V4.0E, and actually they will work on V4.0D as well.
Your CAVEAT about this being totally unsupported by Compaq, is only true to
the extend that we have not officially release an external kit. We are in
the process of making the Insight Manager Agents available from the web as
well as on the Compaq Management CD.
The files you copied constitute the various daemons (Web Agents, and Compaq
MIB sub-agents), but alone they will not provide the web pages on a V4.0E or
V4.0D system. One will also need the HTML templates and javascripts which
reside under the /usr/share/sysman/web/ directory.
The os_mibs sub-agent also provide some MIB instrumentation for Insight
Manager, basically file system usage and some MIBII attributes.
