How To Determine Patch Level?

This may be a case of RTFM, but given a 4.0D system, is there a quick and
easy way to determine which patch set is installed on it? We have a number
of systems here, and I wasn't around when they were patched, so I'd like
to know which of patch sets 1 or 2 were installed on which systems.
