Hi managers,

I have two Alphaserver 1200 with Digital Unix 4.0D and TruCluster
ASE 1.5 installed with patches (patches 3 shipped on february 1999).
Systems share a Raid ARRAY 7000 with a HSZ70 RAID controller( HSOF
V7.1).

I had setup two mirrorsets on this Storage .
My problem is : when i create an ASE disk service with an IP
address, the service failed with the following error message in the
console log:

Jul 29 12:25:12 DEPPDEV ASE: DEPPDEV Agent Notice: adding service
INTRASERVICE
Jul 29 12:25:12 DEPPDEV ASE: DEPPEXP Agent Notice: adding service
INTRASERVICE
Jul 29 12:26:13 DEPPDEV ASE: DEPPEXP Agent Error: timeout waiting on
/var/ase/sbin/nfs_ifconfig action completion
Jul 29 12:26:13 DEPPDEV ASE: DEPPDEV Agent Error: timeout waiting on
/var/ase/sbin/nfs_ifconfig action completion
Jul 29 12:27:13 DEPPDEV ASE: DEPPEXP Agent Error: timeout waiting on
/var/ase/sbin/nfs_ifconfig action completion
Jul 29 12:27:14 DEPPDEV ASE: DEPPDEV Agent Error: timeout waiting on
/var/ase/sbin/nfs_ifconfig action completion
Jul 29 12:27:14 DEPPDEV ASE: DEPPDEV Director Error: can't add service
Jul 29 12:27:14 DEPPDEV ASE: DEPPDEV AseMgr Error: Add failed - Unable
to add service.
Jul 29 12:27:20 DEPPDEV ASE: DEPPDEV AseMgr Error: Add/Start failed -
Service INTRASERVICE not added...

But when i create it without IP address, the service is add an all work
fine. in the console log i had:

Jul 29 12:42:12 DEPPDEV ASE: DEPPDEV Agent Notice: adding service
INTRASERVICE
Jul 29 12:42:12 DEPPDEV ASE: DEPPEXP Agent Notice: adding service
INTRASERVICE
Jul 29 12:42:13 DEPPDEV ASE: DEPPEXP Director Notice: added service
INTRASERVICE
Jul 29 12:42:13 DEPPDEV ASE: DEPPDEV AseMgr Notice: Added service
INTRASERVICE
Jul 29 12:42:13 DEPPDEV ASE: DEPPDEV Agent Notice: starting service

Jul 29 12:42:14 DEPPDEV ASE: DEPPEXP Director Notice: started
INTRASERVICE on DEPPDEV
Jul 29 12:42:15 DEPPDEV ASE: DEPPEXP Director Notice: stored a new ASE
configuration database

i had this error:

# cluster_map_create -full
Members running are: ( DEPPDEV DEPPEXP )
Permission denied.
Permission denied.
Doing device table scans.
.Permission denied.
Permission denied.
...Error: Asymmetric shared SCSIs in ASE ASE_ID_0 between members

in the two systems i had:

# rcmgr get ASE_ID
0

# scu scan edt
Scanning all available buses, please be patient...

# scu show edt

CAM Equipment Device Table (EDT) Information:

Hosts file is the same on both systems, and the rhosts is ok.
