PROBLEM STATEMENT:  
Several customers on the V4.0D satisfaction surveys have said they 
have been instructed to remove all patches prior to performing an 
update installation.  This is not necessary as update will "clean up" 
the system of all patches previous installed with dupatch. 
Update does this clean up of official patches automatically when updating 
to the following releases: 
        V4.0D, V4.0E, V4.0F and V5.0 
Customer specific patches are not official patch kits and are not 
recognized by the update install process. Therefore, patches not 
installed using dupatch must be removed manually. 
  
SOLUTION: 
Please remind customers that when performing an update installation 
on the releases above, they do not need to manually remove 
official patch kits.
