I have been tasked with installing Java 1.2.1 on a Digital 433au workstation
running Tru64 4.0E.
The web page says install relevant patches and then Java, so I installed all
140 patches from duv40eas0002-19990617.tar.gz, uninstalled Java 1.1.6,
installed Java 1.2.1 and made 1.2.1 the default installation.

While testing, I get the following error from javac, java, rmic and rmid:
DECthreads init failure, version mismatch:
kernel version 1, library version 10001 -- application must be
relinked.

It would seem that one of the patches loaded libraries that are incompatible
with Java.
