Wow, thanks to all that replied. My first time here and it was great.
[ORIGINAL QUESTION]
Hi - trying to run an install update on an Alphaserver 2000 to go from 4.0b to 4.0e. Am not getting very far because I need to remove Multimedia Services from the machine. No problem, except that I HAVE removed them already using setld -d. Doing a setld -i shows them in the master list, but there is no "installed" next to any of them. The machine still thinks that they are installed and need to be removed before I can proceed.
I rebuilt the kernel but that didn't seem to make any difference.
Any suggestions for how to tell the machine that they really are *not* installed??
[SOLUTION]
I had 8 or 9 people reply with basically the same answer:
Look in the /usr/.smdb./ for MME*.lk
For every *.lk file that comes back, use setld -d on the subset name.
Presto - installation is now running.
Thanks to everyone who responded.
david.
