Changing disk sizes on an HSZ: can we copy the date using mirror/RAID?

Hi,

We have a StorageWorks cabinet pretty much chock-full of 4GB disks
(rz29b and rz1cb-cs) configured as various mirrorsets and RAIDsets
(RAID 5) and shared as ASE (production server) disk services between
our two 4100s (DU 4.0E pk2) using dual redundant HSZ50 controllers.

We now have a bunch of new 18 GB disks in boxes in the computer room
and we are going to reconfigure the thing to get more space by replacing
some of the 4GBs with 18GBs.

My question is: can we use the hardware mirror/RAID capabilities to
copy the data to the new disks on the fly or do we have to copy
somewhere else, remove the disks and copy back because the
new disks are bigger? If, for instance, we are replacing the two 4
GB disks in a two-disk mirrorset with two 18GB disks, can we
take out the second 4 GB disk and replace with an 18GB disk,
wait for the mirrorset to resynch and then take out the first 4GB
disk and replace with an 18GB, or do we have to copy the
data somewhere else, replace both disks and copy back?
What about with a six-disk RAIDset using RAID 5? Can we replace
the six disks one by one and keep the data on it?

If we can't do this sort of thing, what's the easiest way to
copy all the data to an empty RAIDset and then copy it
back? is there something in the HSZ we can use to do this or
do we have to do it using Unix?

By the way, some of the mirrorsets/RAIDsets are NFS services
and some are DRDs - are there extra considerations (other
than having the Oracle database well and truly down, of course)
when copying DRDs from smaller to larger disks? Is this whole
thing going to be a nightmare from start to finish? Any advice/war
stories appreciated.

Thanks!
