Hello, unix managers,
We are running unix 4.0D and patch kit 3 (but the old one; until now I didn't
get the machines to replace it). Now we want to install kit 4, and
as far as I read the archives it is not necessary to remove aa old patch kit
in order to install a newer patch kit. But when I try to install now PK4 I
get the following message:
Problem installing:
- DIGITAL_UNIX_V4.0D / Filesystem Patches:
Patch 0314.02 - AdvFS Command Correction
./sbin/advfs/vdf:
its origin can not be identified.
This patch will not be installed.
But I can't remember that we modified this file, and besides we have in two
other 4.0D machines a vdf file with the same checksum and a date of Dec 7 1998.
Anyone else had this? Some ideas on what to do?
