Deleting quota.[group|user] files?

Hello,

I have DU 4.0B and DU 4.0D systems that appear to have had, at one time,
quotas enabled. I have a couple of questions relating to quotas.

In the root directory of one system I have these files

-rw-r----- 1 root operator 1155072 Oct 8 1997 quota.group
-rw-r----- 1 root operator 2097152 May 5 1998 quota.user

/etc/fstab has

root_domain#root / advfs rw 0 0

as the line to mount the root volume. Quotas are off, if I'm interpreting

# showfsets root_domain
root
        Id : 3244809b.000460e0.1.8001
        Files : 2043, SLim= 0, HLim= 0
        Blocks (512) : 281548, SLim= 0, HLim= 0
        Quota Status : user=off group=off

correctly.

I would like to get rid of the quota.* files (I need the room; I'll be
putting / on a bigger partition *very* soon though).

Can those files be deleted? Is there some command that can be given to
reinitialize them (hopefully to a smaller size)?

Thanks, -- Bennet
