I get the feeling that this has been asked before, but here goes ...
I have a cluster consisting of two physical hosts. This system has just
been upgraded to Enhanced Security. I would like to share password
information between the two members of the cluster. I would like to avoid
YP or NFS, since both seem to make the cluster dependent on one single
system. That is, if the member acting as YP server or NFS server fails,
the other member now can't authenticate logins since the prpasswd
information is inaccessible. The high availability of the cluster seems
wasted.
Does anyone have a scheme for propogating password change information from
one member of a cluster to the other(s)? It doesn't have to be "real-time."
If it takes an hour or two for a password change to make it to the other
member, that's fine -- just so long as it eventually makes it there.
Thanks!
Frank
