HI All ,
I wanted to increase the size of a root partition
by expanding rz0a . This is a UFS file system .
After booting from CD , in the unix shell , I tried
to edit the label , but it won't let you as it's "In
use" . I tried to force change the fstype , but it wouldn't
let me . I had made the device in /dev .
I then tried to do it from the installation gui
disk partition gui . It wouldn't let me .
I then went back to the unix shell and found that
the label had indeed been changed by the gui ?
Yay , the data was intact and all , but when
I booted , df -k showed the old size even though
the label showed the new .
I then went back to the gui disk partitioner
and stretched it a little bit . This time it let me ?
When I mounted the partition , I had lost the data ,
so, after restoring I finally had the correct specs .
What's the deal . Do I have to blow off the label
and recreate it from scratch and restore the data .
The rz0b partition was just swap . I have unmounted
file systems and stretched them before without
losing their data , but not the root .
        Is it possible . ?

Thanking you ,
