clusters: hsz80, AdvFs, checkpoints

Dear colleagues,
I need some advice from you.

I've a 4100 (ev5/6) and I plan to buy a ES40 (ev6) and a hsz80 based RA8000.
I would like to setup a TrueCluster Available Server with the two
so that they share the same disks and data.
On the 4100 I have all and only AdvFS domains and, since I like
Advfs a lot, I would like the cluster to use it.

After the scenario hera are the questions:

0) is hsz80 supported as shared device of a cluster (version 1.6) ?

1) in a cluster, do I create a domain on a member of the
cluster and then I simply modify /etc/fdmns on the other member, or does it
exists a special procedure for sharing AdvFs domains?

2) whichever the way i will create and share the Advfs domains,
I guess their names (and fset names) must be the same on both member,
isn'nt it?

3) if I want any application to automatically failover on the
other member, will I have any trouble from the fact that the CPU types of
the member are NOT the same? Do the cluster member to run the same version
of the O.S.?

4) since I mainly use my machines as "batch" number crunching boxes,
how can I manage the failover of a running FORTRAN executable?
With CRAY machines you can automatically create "checkpoints" of a running
image. The checkpoint file can be used to resume the execution of the
process from the point it was checkpointed.
I know it is not possible to make checkpoints with Tru64 Unix 4.0x,
but will it be possible with Tru64 Unix 5.0 and/or True Cluster 5.0 ?

Many thanks from Italy,
long life to our mailing list!

Emanuele
