Hello,
We are running DU4.0d with PK2 and C2 security. We have some users whose
password expiration and lifetime is set so that their passwords won't expire
in the foreseeable future (the user accounts are being used by internal
applications), so we changed the setting from 52 weeks to 52 years. These
accounts were using a security template and we made the changes in the
template (which applied the changes to the accounts). The accounts that
were functional before this change continue to work, however, any new
account that we create with this template (set to 52 years) remains locked
and inaccessible. When I try to use passwd to change the password, I
receive this error:
Last successful password change for linwei: Thu Aug 5
15:48:03 1999
Last unsuccessful password change for linwei: NEVER
Password not changed: password lifetime has passed.
If I open dxaccounts and try to unlock and change the password, I can
uncheck the "Account Locked" checkbox, but if I reopen the user after
pressing "OK," the account still shows locked and I still get the above
error using passwd.
We reset the expiration & lifetime to 5 years and the accounts now function
properly.
Has anyone else seen this before? Has it been fixed by PK4?
Thanks,
John Losey
