SUMMARY: Unresolvable symbol - which one? (fwd)

The answer, as I after READING THE MAUAL (sigh) was to set _RLD_ARGS to
something appropriate. See loader(5).

However, even setting _RLD_ARGS to '-trace' didn't actually point to the
problem. But, incidentally, the binary ran fine on another system. So by
making a very lucky guess i found out that /shlib/libc.so was the culprit.
By putting an older one in a safe location and pointing LD_LIBRARY_PATH.

The two versions were:

-rw-r--r-- 2 bin bin 1634400 Jan 7 1999 /shlib/libc.so
-rw-r--r-- 2 bin bin 1623760 Mar 10 1998 /shlib/libc.so

Subject: Unresolvable symbol - which one?
I am about to set up a license server for Pro/ENGINEER on an AlphaServer.
Installation goes fine, but when the license server (FLEXlm 6.1) its
vendor daemon fails to start due to some unresolvable symbols.
The message looks like:
root_at_dylan:/usr/opt/ptc/flexlm/alpha_unix/obj# ./ptc_d
30475:./ptc_d: /sbin/loader: Error: Unresolved symbol in ./ptc_d:
30475:./ptc_d: /sbin/loader: Error: Unresolved symbol in ./ptc_d:
30475:./ptc_d: /sbin/loader: Fatal Error: this executable has unresolvable
symbols
Now, can one make /sbin/loader to be a bit more specific? Which symbols?
Which libraries are missing?
Thanks,
/Erik
