good morning! (well .. is parts of the world anyways..)
Yesterday afternoon all our users were kicked off the system... I looked at
the daemon log and sure enough:
-----------------------
Sep 7 15:24:22 csb1 ASE: csb1 Agent ***ALERT: device access failure on
/dev/rz128g from csb1
Sep 7 15:24:35 csb1 ASE: csb1 Agent Error: can't unreserve device
Sep 7 15:24:41 csb1 ASE: csb1 Agent Error: can't unreserve device
/dev/rz128g
Sep 7 15:24:41 csb1 ASE: csb1 Agent Notice: can't unreserve csb's devices,
stopping it anyway
-----------------------
Anyways.. we're running TC1.5, DS20, Unix 4.0E patch 2 i beleive..
I was able to start the service on our backup machine with no problem, I
then stopped it there and restarted it on the initial machine and since then
its fine..
My question is what would cause a 'device access failure'? theres nothing in
any other log
