thanks to chad price and brian parkhurst.
both said it would be a good idea to boost my swap
back up to where it was, -and- to install
the latest version of emacs.
bty- i'm running ver.18.59 thanx again!

orig. question:
i recently upgraded to 4.0D. since then my emacs (power)users
have complained of coredumps. the only thing i can deduce has
changed is my original swap was defined on rz0b and rz2b. under
the new config it is defined as swap generic. has anyone else
experienced emacs coredumps after a 4.0D upgrade? thanx!
