Hello,

we do have a 4.0d machine and the drive with the / sounds terrible. Of
course it will be possible to make a full backup to tape, install the
new drive, boot and install from CD and restore then everything from
tape. This should work without any problems. Because the old drive is
still working I thought it will be possible to add the new drive, run
vdump | vrestore and swap the drives then. This would save me the time
of backup, restore from tape and install from CD. But how about the
bootblock of the new drive? I'm quite shure the new drive would not boot
after a simple vdump | vrestore. Does anbody know how I make the drive
bootable and what should I additional consider?

best regards and thanks in advance
