I have a very perplexing problem with two of our DEC 3000 boxes (models 300
and 600 - OS: DU V4.0E, no patches) in which a dialog box reading "DT
messaging could not be started" appears right after entering the CDE on a
non-root login attempt. I've had couple of suggests from other managers
that have certainly pointed me in the right direction, but the solution
still has not presented itself after much research. I'm so desperate now
that I'm thinking of trying to kill the "ttsession" daemon and thereby doing
away with the whole thing completely. CAN THIS BE DONE, AND, IF SO, HOW?
Also, is this a bad idea? Has anyone out there had such a problem? Any
suggestions will be appreciated.
