Most of the answers pointed to hitting cntrl-c on start of the boot
sequence
which worked for me.

Other answers suggested were:
- cntrl-P on start of boot sequence
- Hit the reset switch depending on the model
- Hit the halt button if the computer has one.
- If system boots from removable storageworks disks, shutdown, pull the
boot
disk a bit and boot. The boot sequence will fail and fall into SRM
prompt

After getting the SRM prompt
>> boot -fl s <cr>

Thanks for the many replies ( too many to be listed)

Original Question:

My system hangs on booting to mulituser mode and i cannot get to the
SRM prompt as the system boots straight into multiuser mode. Is there
any keyboard sequence which i can use to break the boot sequence and
get to the SRM prompt
