Thanks for quick answers to

   Wendy Fong [wfong_at_synacom.com]
   Bob Vickers [bobv_at_dcs.rhbnc.ac.uk]

Simon and Wendy said I should look for a file .rhosts, but there
was none.
Laurentius_S told me to delete /etc/passwd.dir and /etc/passwd.pag
(see "man mkpasswd").

Best answer for my problem from Bob Vickers:
"Maybe someone has edited /etc/passwd by hand. You should always use
vipw or one of the other password tools for changing it. passwd.pag
is a database file created from /etc/passwd."

I tried vipw and got the message "vipw: password file busy".
After

    rm /etc/ptmp
    vipw (some change)

all works fine: User bermes_p must enter a password at login!!!

Have a good time

Mit freundlichen Grüßen
