Incomplete boot messages in /var/adm/messages & dia

I recently installed additional scsi cards in our 8400 (4.0Dpk3) and
after rebuilding the kernel noticed that the boot messages both in
/var/adm/messages and dia are incomplete. I am only getting the tail
end of the boot information (isp6 at pci1 slot 9 - dli: configured).

I seem to recall something about this problem from the list and needing
to increase a buffer size, but I can't find the information. Does
anyone have a solution? I am running dia 2.6 if that makes a difference
(yeah, I know I need to update it). TIA.
