Hi,
One of my coworkers is in the UK setting up a new cluster of 8400
running 4.0F.
He is having a dickens of a time here there with the new 8400s.
The system boots, the environments (A-F!) all start to run and then I
see a lot of messages like: NFS3 server dcsappl01b not responding still
trying and then the machine shuts itself down and reboots. Nothing in
the UERF log either.
Anyway, he was wondering if anyone had heard of a timing parameter for
determining when a second system is down. He thought he had heard of
such a thing... He had to turn auto negotiation off, because every time
a service came on line, the card re-negotiates, which means the network
isn't available for 10 seconds. There are about a dozen services,
so the network is going up and down for over 2 mins.
Any one have any tidbits to throw our way?
Thanks and will summarize,
Bryan Rank
