Hi Gurus,
I have a host with two network cards configured for two
subnets. Now I want the host to be addressed from other hosts by
the nearest address without giving it two different names.
host names are DNS resolved, so simply having different
/etc/hosts files in the different subnets does not work.
e.g.:
the network cards are configured as follows:
123.155.234.232 host-234
123.155.101.232 host
and I want it to be called by name "host" with the first address when
called from another machine in subnet .234. and with the second
address when called from elsewhere.
BTW it works fine when calling other machines from "host" due to
the /etc/routes entries
default 123.155.101.246
- -net 123.155.234 -interface 123.155.234.232
How may I arrange that ?
Tschüß,
Dieter
