UPDATE:
It's worse than I thought !
It looked like the problem was simply ICMP redirects causing the tables to automatically update...
but... now I notice that a net route for 166.54.122 is changing (NOT ME!) to tu0 which is 172.22.8.8 even
though tu1 is configured as 166.54.122.100 !
It doesn't work. I change it back to interface route out to 166.54.122.100 and in a few minutes..
it's back to 172.22.8.8
I change it, and it changes back.
There is no "D" flag in the route table. It's UGS.
Geez !!
Any ideas ??!

Subject: Why do my routing tables keep changing?
Before this becomes a research project, I thought I'd ask the experts out there:
Why do my routing tables automatically change on me even though I'm NOT running routed or gated ??
Even the default route and local net routes change on their own Other routes appear out of nowhere.
Sounds like some kinda RIP updating going on. Could there be a router broadcasting routes that my servers update with?
What do I do to tell my server to ignore all routing updates of any kind (assuming that's my problem) ?
Setup:
AlphaServer 1200 with two 10/100 NIC cards.
Digital UNIX 4.0D with latest patches.
Thanks for all help,
