dear colleagues,
this isn't urgent as we won;t do it for a week or two
but:
we are about to change our system disks from software
mirroring via LSM to hardware mirroring using KZPAC
controllers. we have two 4100s in a production server
cluster running 4.0E pk 2. very roughly we are going to
do something like this:
(1) un-mirror the system disks
(2) unencapsulate the system disks
(3) shut down and replace the shelves (for some
reason we need new shelves, i forget why but it
made sense at the time) and remove the existing
system disk controllers (KZPAA), replace
with KZPAC controllers (no free slots) and
connect it all up
(4) boot up and re-mirror the system disks
before i start planning this, is there anyone who's
done something like this before? i have no
experience with the KZPAC - i assume they
have a console like HSZs. sorry for naivety.
thanks
john
