NFS Portmap: RPC: Program not registered

I receive the error:

NFS Portmap: RPC: Program not registered

when trying to mount an nfs volume of one OSF 4.0f machine to another OSF
4.0f by using the command:

mount -t nfs /directory_at_host /host

Any ideas?
