Lately we've been having mixed problems getting 2 Dec Printserver 17's to
boot off the server. It's setup correctly, and 9x out of 10 it won't
boot... but finally, somehow, it does. And once booted it will go for
weeks until shutoff. Then the boot problem starts again.
It happens to both so I'm pretty sure it's not hardware, and have tried
different cables. Just turning it off and turning it back on, eventually
sometimes finally gets it going again, usually after hours of trying
everything else.
On a small related note, I decided to move one to a different subnet. The
only change required changing the ip address and restart the lpsbootd. But
"arp -a" keeps showing the old entry "syru27-029.syr.edu (128.230.27.29) at
(incomplete) stale not responding"
and keeps adding it when I delete it.
Can someone explain what I'm not understanding or doing here?
Thanks,
Dan
