Hello Tru64 UNIX Managers,
I've installed several patch kits in the past with no problem until now.
I've just upgraded a system from Digital UNIX 4.0D to Tru64 UNIX 4.0F. Once
upgraded I tried to install the patch kit #1 for 4.0F which failed. It
failed because of insufficient space in the /usr partition.
So from "single-user" mode with the root & usr partition mounted I tried
running the "dupatch" utility. Then I get the following message on the
console: -
"Patch tools need to be installed on your system. As the super-user
(root), please invoke dupatch without command line arguments first."
But I've tried running "dupatch" without any command line arguments, as I
always do, and it still fails. So, I do a "setld -i" and see that the patch
tools are already installed. And then when I use "setld -d" to try and
delete the patch tools I get the following error message: -
"Setld: Sorry, You may not delete "Patch Tools" (OSF... ... etc.)"
I've deleted unwanted subsets so now there's plenty of room to put on the
patch kit.
Any idea's as to how I can get around this problem and successfully install
the patch kit?
Thanks,
David Beary
