I have a user with a PWS 500au, whose internal disk bays are all used, and
more disk storage is needed. A few years ago, a BA-364 mini-tower
StorageWorks cabinet would have been fine for expanding his storage, but now
I can find no mention of this modest little item in the Compaq web site, and
can only find much larger cabinets that are hugely excessive for our needs.
One option is to replace all current internal drives with 18.2 GB drives,
which are apparently now available in a 1" height (item SN-PBXRW-TB).
Another option is to install a required SCSI adapter in the PCI bus and
connect to it some 3rd party external disk cabinet, with one or two high
capacity drives and a power supply in it. Can anyone advise of such 3rd
party disk cabinets, or of some functional replacement/equivalent to the
BA-364?
