for their timely and encouraging support.
Original post follows this summary:
Then general consensus was that the cards listed for the current Personal
Workstations would work with V4.0d, but with Open 3D support installed.
Eugene Gurvich pointed out that V4.0d, PK 5 includes support for the ELSA
GLoria card. After checking the patch documentation, it is patch 709.00
which provides this capability. I was unaare of this feature of the patch
kit which was released on October 7th.
Thanks to all for your help.

Bruce
Original Posting:
For a variety of reasons, we need to run 4.0d (as the base OS) on a new
Compaq 500 au Enhanced Personal Workstation.
E.g., part number SN-B3ECU-SD.
The V4.0d SPD states that there is support for the Powerstorm 3D30 card
(PB-XGB-AA) on the original model of the 500 au DPW, as well as the
PBXGI-AX (very fancy and expensive Powerstorm card).
The graphics adapters sold today for the current model are the:
SN-PBXGK-BB ELSA GLoria Synergy
SN-PBXGD-AD Powerstorm 300
SN-PBXGD-AE Powerstorm 350
SN-PBXGI-AD Powerstorm 4D51T
The SOC chapter on these systems states V4.0F, but since the chapter was
written after 4.0F shipped I am hoping it says that because V4.0F is the
"current" version.
I have not been able to determine whether or not, V4.0D will support the
newer cards. The ELSA card would be the best as we don't need fancy
graphics, and cost is an issue.
Does anyone know if V4.0d will support this card? Or one of the other
current cards?
I will gladly summarize.
Thanks and regards,
Bruce
