Hi All,
I am wrestling with ATM on a pair of Microway Screamers, based on the
AlphaPC164LX motherboard. My first attempt was to use the FORE PCA200E PCI
cards that were the standard on our campus (ATM to the desktop was the motto of
our just recently FORMER Vice President of Information Services). These cards
are recognised and used on other Alphas that I have but do not quite work on the
new boxes. We have tried with both 4.0d and 4.0f. In the discussions I have
had with folks at FORE, it came to my attention that COMPAQ was supposed to be
doing their own drivers for the newer FORE cards (ForeRunnerLE155 and
ForeRunnerHE622). While perusing the COMPAQ web site for references to ATM, I
found that there are 2 new ATM adapters for TU5.0, 3X-DAPBA-FA and 3X-DAPCA-FA
listed in the SPD (
http://www.digital.com/info/SP7070/). I am wondering if
these are the FORE cards with new names. Does anyone out there know? I can get
one of these to try, but I am wondering if I need TU5.0 to make it work. As I
don't yet have 5.0 media, and no one else on our campus does either, I would
like to have some hope of this working before I commit to the new version.
Thanks a lot,
