I got one respone from kazuro.furukawa_at_kek.jp which point out that the
Xserver in Tru64 does has the deferglyphs option.
It seems that the option doesn't appear in man page of Xserver(1X). I
don't know whether this option is supported offically by compaq.
When I use deferglyphs option. I got the following error when start
netscape and defered chinese fonts can't be displayed.
--------------------------------------
netscape:
X Error of failed request: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for
operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 45 (X_OpenFont)
Serial number of failed request: 6803
Current serial number in output stream: 6804
Widget hierarchy of resource: unknown
