You can't. a 3D30 is just an 8-bit card

Hello Holger!
the card only can handle 8 bits, therefor you'll see `depth 8' at boot
time:
tga0: depth 8, map size 4MB, 1280x1024
Sorry, but this is related to hardware.

Hi,
tga0 at pci0 slot 7
tga0: depth 8, map size 4MB, 1280x1024
tga0: ZLXp-E
how can I change the color depth to 24 bits with this card?
1280x1024 with 24 bits should work with 4MB
However, the line:
:0 Local local_at_console /usr/bin/X11/X :0 -bs -su -vclass TrueColor -depth 24 -once
in /etc/dt/config/Xservers
does not give me the expected 24 planes.
If someone out there has 24 bit working with a 3D30, could you please
send me the output of:
uerf -R | grep tga0 | tail -4
xdpyinfo
and
cat /etc/dt/config/Xservers
(or cat /usr/dt/config/Xservers)
