Dear Managers
We experience serious problems with Perl version 5.005.02 and higher running
DU 4.0D patch level 3.
We developed a Perl daemon that handles requests via a TCP/IP port on a
client. Once a request is done via the server output is buffered & flushed
and is shown by your browser. This works fine for on other UNIX like HP, AIX
but doesn't work properly on Tru64 (the daemon itself runs fine). When
requesting a simple print statement the output is sometimes flushed (via $|)
and shown but most of the times IT IS NOT, it just seems to dissapear? This
behaviour is the same for all other requested output. Something is seriously
wrong with the buffering, but we dont have a clue.
We build Perl (5.00502 and 03) with the native cc compiler without any
errors (but with above result). Tried converting all headers files with
h2pd's (same result). Tried another server (idem)
Does anybody has experience with this?
All help will be appreciated
Kind Regards
Henk Baars, Tru64 Unix System Manager, Origin MS, Eindhoven, the
