Hi all,
I have a system which was running Digital UNIX V4.0E and NSR V4.4 till yesterday.
I upgraded NSR on this system to V5.2 to make it Y2K compatible. But after upgrading
to V5.2, NSR is not able to come up. While starting nwadmin & it displays server not
available.
I guess that problem is because of nsrd daemon not starting. nsrexecd is started up.
I have tried starting nsrd daemon at command prompt but it's not coming up. Upon checking
with ps -ef | grep nsr , nsrexecd is the only daemon being started related to nsr.
I understand that I need to apply enabler received with V5.2 as part of upgrade once NSR has
started. LMF licenses are still loaded on the system.
As per the installation manual index conversion should have taken place while upgrading from
NSR ver 4.4 to ver 5.2, but nothing of this sort happened while upgrade.
I have tried running nsrck -X after the upgrade, it reports that indexes are of old format and need
to be converted but it fails to convert reporting server not available.
I have followed all the steps as advised in the installation manual like creating sufficient space
for index conversion ( three times the size of index ). I am not able to diagnose why NSR
server is failing to come up. Can some one help me in completing this upgarde ?
Thanks and Regards,
