I posted the question (listed at the end of this summary) yesterday. I
received replies from the following:

Thanks everybody for the help. I was aware that the CAM utility was on
associated products CD, but did not know MRU was. I had a look at
associated products Volume 1 & 2 for V4.0F and could not see MRU - only CAM.
We use MRU extensively on many systems. Our original MRU distributions on
CD came when we bought several TL89n silos. V1.2 was the shipping version
of MRU. The requirement to upgrade to V1.3 was only a personal thing. V1.2
has been around for some while now, and there was mention of V1.3 with users
already using it. I seemed like a good idea to upgrade to the latest
version. It seems unreasonable to have to buy a new silo to get the latest
software distribution. This is I think more of a software support issue. I
will take this up with our contract people.
I was aware of the command line ROBOT commands (robot and xrobot are part of
the MRU kit). However I was not aware of the 'mcutil' command. The man
page seems to list all you need to know.
Thanks to you all. Very prompt replies as always.
Best regards - Tony

I believe MRU is on the Assoc Prod CD Vol. 1 as part of the SCSI cam layered
product - the precise name escapes me.

MRU is a software product sold by Compaq to make (a little)
money. It also ships with many of our tape libraries and
loaders as a convience to the customers buying those pieces
of hardware. If you want MRU, you'll have to buy it or buy
a loader/library that includes it.

I've heard of MRU too, but I've never used it. I can tell you that the
CLCM subset includes the `mcutil' command, which is all you need to test
basic functionality of your jukebox. That command is handy to know even
after you get NetWorker installed and working, since `nsrjb' doesn't know
how to show you the contents of the load ports, while mcutil does.
We use the following /etc/mcicap entry with our STK9710:
obelisk|STK9710|mc0:\
:mc=/dev/mc30:\
:dn=rmt0h,rmt1h,rmt2h:tc=tl810:
You'll of course need to change just about everything there. ;-) About
the only thing that you will keep is the `tc=tl810', which is all mcutil
needs to figure out how to get the actual information about
slots/ports/drives
from the jukebox.
Maybe the MRU provides something really neat that I've been missing, but as
far as I can tell the CLCM subset gives you everything you *need*.

Hi all...
I have a GS140 (Dunix V4.0e + pk2) which is about to have a storagetek-9710
tape library attached to it. This will be driven by Legato ultimately.
However I want to be able to manipulate it via robot initially to verify
mechanics are working correctly etc. This system also has a TL894 silo
driven by robot (MRU) V1.2 - CAM driver V3.1D is installed.
I have checked the '99 archives and have found 2 references to MRU V1.3.
Neither said where I could download this kit from. Is it FTPable from
somewhere? Is this supported under V4.0e.
Your help is appreciated.
