Hi all,
I am using PPP to connect two Digital Unix 4.0d machines. The connection
is successfully made between the two systems, but the following message is
repeated numerous times in the local system log file.
"Unknown protocol (0x55) received"
Compaq support searched the ppp code and claims there are not any references
to a protocol (0x55) in the code.
Another problem we are having which may or may not be related is the ppp
connection drops while copying large files. It drops after transferring
about 1 Meg of data.
Below are some details of the ppp connection.
Start up script on local system:
/usr/sbin/pppd debug /dev/tty00 38400 connect
"chat -v -f chat.file" local_IP:remote_IP user xxxxx
Command on remote system:
/usr/sbin/pppd -detach silent auth +pap login debug
