The problem: Command aliasing on a DS-20 with 4.0F PK1 (new install) was
failing - compounded by an assumption that I was using my standard ksh when
I logged in.
All the users had been set up to use /bin/sh and aliasing apparently does
not work for sh.
Zeev's response triggered the fix:
"The alias is build in command on sh,csh and tcsh and external command in
ksh.
The problem is that if you are not using POSIX bourne shell THERE IS NO
OPTION to do an alias.
In csh there is not suppose to be any problem."
Thanks again,
Roger Bell
