We need to close out our month on 11/24 this year, however, we also
don't want to sit around on 11/29 and 11/30 and do nothing (since
if we didn't change the date, any work would be placed on the November
financial information, which we want to close out early this month).
What we want to do is on 11/28 change the system date to be 11/30 so
on 11/29 the system thinks it's 12/01 (putting any entered data on
Decembers financials), then again, late 11/29, change it to be 11/30
so on 11/30 it's 12/01 again, then finally one more time back to 11/30
late 11/30 (remember the system thinks it's 12/01) so it will once
again be 12/01 on 12/01. (essentially it will look like a whole lot
of work was done on 12/01)
Now...how screwed up will the O/S get (we are on 3.2c)
We don't have NFS
We don't use accounting features of UNIX
We do use C2 security, will this screw up any of our /tcb info?
Can any think of any potential problems?
