Original Question:

Hi,

I have just seen the summary by Ken Kleiner saying that to go from
4.0b to 4.0f the intermediate 4.0d or 4.0e step must be used.

I am a bit concerned since I have recently gone from b directly to f on a couple
of my machines. Can someone tell me why the intermediate step is necessary?

Thanks,

Gareth Batley.

Summary:

Thanks for the replies to Olle Erikson, John Deacon and Gwen Pettigrew.

The consenus seems to be that the route I have taken will not be supported
although since everything SEEMS to be working OK I am obviously going to
leave it as it is.

I guess since I repartitioned the disk when I did the upgrade my question was
probably a bit silly.

Gareth.
