Hy,
I am installing sendmail 8.9.3 on PW500 running Tru64 V4.0F.
The compilation was fine. The problem is with connections.
The computer is sending mail correctly but has some problems with
incoming mails.
If the incoming mail is coming from a computer running Tru64 V4.0F
we have no problem. But if the sending computer is running Tru64 V4.0x
with x prior to F (eg. B or C) no connection is made.
Here is what I get on the sending computer
Mail -v user_at_foo.com
(....)
user_at_foo.com... Connecting to foo.com (smtpl).
user_at_foo.com... Deferred: Connection timed out during user open with
foo.com
A similar answer is obtained using
telnet foo.com 25
My suspect is that there is some protocol mismatch since to my knowledge
Tru64 V4.0F is using sendmail 8.8.8.
Tests with sending computers running Linux RedHat V 5.2 (sendmail 8.8.7)
or RedHat v 6.0 (sendmail 8.9.3) does not show any problem.
We cound not find any hint in the documentation.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Andrea
