SUMMARY: Moving disks to a new machine

Thanks to Alan Davis for his comments.

Basically this comes down to not really being supported but there are
possible workarounds, but the suggestion is to just dump the data, rebuild
the volume on the new machine (setting them up in a different disk group)
and copy the data back on.

workaround probably goes like this:

- create dummy rootdg disk on new system
- move the disks, making sure to keep track of which is which
(easiest if scsi ID's dont change -- this is the case here, using a
dedicated SCSI card for the disks and just moving the whole shebang
  over)
if scsi ID's are different on the new system, it's probably possible to
use voldisk define to fix it.
- use voldctl to add new disks
- use same to remove dummy
- reboot and hope it recognizes them

Things get much nastier if root/swap are encapsulated and there was a
little info on that, but it mostly came down to "if you can avoid it, do".
I may at some point mirror/stripe swap on this, but not until I'm a bit
more familiar with LSM :)

Tonight hopefully I'll get more time to work on setting this up, and if
anyone is interested let me know and I'll give details of how we
eventually get things going.
