One of my customer has AlphaServer 2000 running Tru64 4.0D Patch kit 4 runs
into a print problem once in a while. Among other things, his server prints
tickets and labels.
The tickets and labels are grouped into "waves" for printing. Each wave
consists of several hundred pages. Occasionally, an entire wave will print a
second time-that is the entire series from beginning to end will reprint.
He has been told that it could be a problem with the print managing utility
that is part of the UNIX operating system or that it might be a problem with
the print manager in the printer.
I searched the archives and found some related articles, but not exactly.
Any hints to trouble-shoot this is highly appriciated.
The printcap entries are as follows (The printer is HP LaserJet 5SiMX)
