SUMMARY: Installing PK5 on PK4 OS - What will happen?

The news was good.
It does in fact only determine which patches have NOT been installed and
does not try to reinstall any "pre-5" patches that exist.
>From the point that I hit return to start the actual install (after the
prelim.
check), took 20 minutes (AS1200) to install/configure 60 patches.
The only patches that failed the check were TCR Production Server
related ones - Mem. Chann., DLM, etc., which didn't apply (ASE) and weren't
licensed for.
The kernel rebuild took about 5 minutes ( less PPP and all ATM related
modules).

        Hey DU Guys,

I've got system maint. time today to upgrade
a production server from patch kit 4 to patch kit 5.
        It's DU 4.0D on a 1200.
It also is running TruCluster 1.5
        Since PK4 is a subset of PK5:

When I run the PK5 dupatch, will it TRY to install existing patches,
OR -
Will it check up front and only install the DIFFERENCES, or new PK5
level
        patches ?

I'm worried about the time it will take. I have an hour, and don't
want to
see it repeatedly trying, failing (do to existence), logging, etc
all of the
        existing patches from PK4.

What will it do ? What can I expect ?

        Thanks,
