Thanks everyone for all of the messages. The consensus was that it was a
cheaper way to do licensing of several layered products back several years
ago. They now license everything separately (which is what I'm used to),
but depending on the level of NAS service you purchased, you get certain
layered products bundled in.
I had the NAS-200 licenses in my shop. I am attaching Bryan Lavelle's email
which describes what the NAS-200 license covers. You would be able to find
out what the other levels have from you Compaq sales rep.
Thanks again!

Blake,
It's actually a form of cheaper licensing for a set of products. The
products licensed by NAS 200 for Unix on Alpha are:
200 Server U/A 306
-------------------------------------------------------------------
PrintServer Software M (3) OV9
ObjectBroker RT L&M OTT
DECmessageQ RT L&M 2W8
DCE RT L&M 01M
POLYCENTER Network Save and Restore L (1) 2AL
POLYCENTER Adv.File System Utilities L&M OEG
PATHWORKS M (2) 054
Logical Storage Manager L (1) 2GV
DIGITAL UNIX Server Extension L (1) MT6
If you are using any of the above products, you should probably keep the NAS
license around. The can be transferred for specific licenses, but really is
no need to do so.

Bryan,
These are NAS-200 licenses. It sounds like it's the old form of licensing
LSM or AdvFS.

Blake, that depends on the number associated with the NAS license. There
should be a 3 digit number, i.e NAS300, which would break down to a
particular set of licenses.
