        Hello!

Allow me to introduce myself... I'm Dan Schwartz, and I own a pair of
AlphaPC 164SX's plus five Multia's, all running NT4. I'm also the Associate
Admin for The AlphaNT Source, the one stop for all info relating to running
NT on Alpha.

My business is Mac-NT integration; and although my business name has
"MacOS" in it, 90% of my revenue is NT based.

Well, as you all well know, us AlphaNT'ers got "Steveified" (Mac-speak for
hung out to dry) first by the Q and then by Micros~1 back in August; so now
I find myself converting one of my 164SX's from AlphaBIOS 5.70 to SRM 5.5;
and from NT4/SP5/HAL rev G to Tru64.

Although I played with RedHat 5.2 on a rePentium a few months ago, I
erased it quickly - In short, my unix experience is >20 years ago on a
PDP11/45 at my alma mater, Georgia Tech.

Please bear with me as I ask newbie unix questions in the next few weeks
as I bring this machine up to speed again. Specifically, I'll be using it
as a general purpose home workstation and also as a file server with SMB
(samba) & AppleTalk (NetaTalk) file services.

        Yours truly,
        Daniel L. Schwartz,
        Electrical Engineer.
