Looking for SCSI adaptor for PC164-based system

Hello,

I recently purchased a PC164 motherboard and processor for home use. I am
attempting to install Tru64 UNIX on it, and have already upgraded from ARC
firmware to SRM firmware.

>From previous research, I know that I need a SCSI controller in this
machine as Tru64 UNIX does not support the IDE controller built into the
motherboard. Specifically, SRM on this motherboard requires one of the
following SCSI chipsets:

        Symbios/NCR 53c810
        Symbios/NCR 53c825
        Symbios/NCR 53c875
        QLogic ISP 10x0

Are there any other SCSI controllers that will work?

I have read that an IntraServer 3140u is the typical choice in this case.
However, they seem to have two versions of the card, one which has driver
support under NT and one which has driver support under Tru64 UNIX. The
only difference seems to be the PCI vendor number (?) and about $140 in
price. Since I am trying to put this system together pretty cheaply, and
am only going to use it for fun at home, I do not want to spend $300+ on a
SCSI card.

Is there another route I could take? Is there support for SCSI cards
using the ncr53c8xx chipset which are not made by IntraServer? Would a
generic, Symbios OEM 53c875 card work? Is there another make of card
which would work?

Thanks in advance for any info,

        -Joel
