Multiple NIC's

One of our machines is an ES40 containing multiple KZPCM-DA's
(dual-port SCSI/Ethernet combo cards). Can I make use of the
multiple ethernet ports to achieve a higher aggregate bandwidth?
We are heading towards multiple ethernet switches attached to
a fibre Gb backbone so in principle, by plugging each ethernet port
into a switch port this machine should be able to talk at 100Mb/s
to multiple clients simultaneously.
Any advice/pointers/gotchas greatly appreciated.

Regards to all,
