running 3.2c
users are logging in with telnet (microsoft version - W95/W98) and seem to
be
logged off before our application's autologout feature kicks in (60 minutes
of idel time).
What I setup was:
1. I have cron every minute do a "w > /tmp/woutput"
2. I have tcpdump running in background looking for FIN packets
3. when one is detected a program emails me the current /tmp/woutput file
this way I can view what the idle time was prior to the forced
disconnect
So far the idle times have ranged from 28 to 58 minutes.
One person (on another list) infomed me that DU has some timeout features
on telnet itself and can be viewed with: sysconfig -q inet.
Unfortunatley, my version doesn't have inet as an option (sysconfig -s
doesn't show it)
How can I find out what the timeouts are for killing a telnet session under
3.2c, if
there is something. or how to get the inet to function under sysconfig
