Original problem:
Power cycle caused the following error message to appear:
Error (ena0), Network station address ROM has a bad checksum.
Resolution:
At the firmware prompt, show config lists a device in isa slot 1
named DE200-LE. This device is not present in the machine.
(I'm not certain if this is a firmware issue or a hardware issue.)
To remove the offending device, re-initialize the ISA with:
>>>isacfg -init
To then save the changes, re-initialize the firmware
>>>init
The problem I was experiencing occured only at power cycle, though.
The device kept re-appearing. The firmware configurations were
not being saved. Time to replace the ROM chip.
Turns out this machine has other problems too....
